Breakaway Foods Introduces New 'Push n' Eat' Meals

Breakaway Foods Introduces New 'Push n' Eat' Meals Breakaway Foods (Columbus, OH) has entered the food convenience era with its new microwaveable products called IncrEdibles. The company will be the first ever to deliver foods that are completely portable, as in no forks, no spoons, and no plates.

The products come in a sealed cylinder, are frozen for maximum flavor and freshness, and microwave ready in one minute once thawed. The cylinder becomes a self-server when an included plastic stick is inserted onto the cylinder bottom. Consumers push n' eat from the cylinder as the food is pushed upward.

IncrEdibles are more nutritious than many fast food alternatives. Some hand-held foods have as much as 320 to 590 calories and 14 to 35-g of fat per serving, while IncrEdibles Macaroni & Cheese, for example, has 160 calories and 4.5-g of fat per serving. A typical sausage, egg and cheese on a biscuit or a roll can have 390 calories and 27 fat grams, while IncrEdibles Scrambled Eggs with Cheese and Sauage has only 190 calories and 16-g of fat.

The first IncrEdibles products will include macaroni & Cheese, Macaroni & Cheese with Broccoli, Chili Mac, Scrambled Eggs with Cheese, Scrambled Eggs with Cheese & Sausage and Scrambled Eggs with Cheese and bacon.. Initial launch is set for the end of November with distribution available from New Jersey to Central Pennsylvania to Northern Virginia for a retail price of $1.49 to $1.99.
