Visitors can see advances in soy, corn, crop protection, digital agriculture and sustainability, and get advice from industry experts
São Paulo /PRNewswire/ - Bayer will bring news to the Coopavel Rural Show, which will take place between February 6th and 10th in the municipality of Cascavel (PR). At its stands, the company will present a range of innovations for the entire farmer's journey, from planning to harvesting. With global investments of approximately € 2 billion per year in Research and Development (R&D) for agriculture, the multinational will offer experiences with cutting-edge products and solutions that contribute to the growth of agricultural production in a sustainable way.
The most recent advance in the strategy of bringing innovations that allow producing more in the same hectare will be able to be known firsthand by visitors: Fox Supra, a new systemic fungicide, ideal to be used in the control of diseases in the soybean crop. The formulation has two active ingredients, Protioconazole and Impirfluxam, which together act with high performance in different stages of the infectious process of diseases such as Asian rust, target spot, brown spot, anthracnose, cercospora and powdery mildew.
The fungicide, developed in the country, is just one of the solutions that will be presented to producers by the company at the Rural Coopavel Show, as stated by Marcio Santos , president and commercial leader of Bayer's agricultural division.
"The strong pressure of pests and diseases in Brazilian agriculture demands solutions that help to reach, in a sustainable way, all the existing productive potential. Bayer is proud to participate in crucial moments for the evolution of agriculture alongside the producers", comments Santos . "We are delighted to be able to personally show visitors to Show Rural Coopavel the innovations developed so that they produce more per hectare while reducing their environmental impact, with a more intelligent, efficient decision-making process based on data from their properties."
According to Márcio Santos, the company's mission is to act as the rural producer's main partner in decision-making regarding the crop. "We will do this based on the knowledge and investment we have made in data science, plants, biological products and sustainable agrochemicals in recent decades, proving that if it is agro, it is Bayer — and this is the motto chosen for our presence at this year's fair," he says.
The main stand has a studio where conversations and interviews will be held with big names in the sector, in addition to an exclusive cashback campaign for customers who are part of Impulso Bayer, the company's loyalty program. Visitors will be able to take advantage of the fair to register or, if they are already in the program, they will have support to simulate pesticide purchases and see the amounts they would receive back in cashback — the calculation is progressive, so the more products purchased, the greater the financial return . There will be almost 35 products available for the simulation.
Field Of Innovations
Owner of the most modern biotechnologies in soy and corn, Bayer will have areas planted with the latest launches in hybrids and varieties totally focused on the region.
For soybeans, visitors will be able to check out the new biotechnology that has already yielded more than 100 bags of soybeans per hectare in dozens of properties in the last harvest, the Intacta2 Xtend® Platform. It provides more comprehensive protection against the main caterpillars of the soybean crop, expanding its scope of defense to two more relevant species, Helicoverpa armigera and Spodoptera cosmioides . Another benefit of the platform is the Xtend® Biotec varieties, which generate high yields for non-Bt areas.
Both technologies, Intacta2 Xtend and Xtend® Biotec, can be associated with management with Xtend® Herbicides, which are highly efficient in controlling broadleaf weeds, such as horseweed, caruru, morning glory and beggarticks. black.
In corn, the producer will be able to observe the VTPRO4® biotechnology which, in addition to contributing even more to the control of the main caterpillars that affect the crop from the root part to the leaves and the ear, presents high productivity with hybrids adapted for the whole country, including to the west of Paraná.
The Dekalb brand, for example, highlights the DKB260 hybrid at the fair. Adapted to the southern region of the country, it has a very early cycle, excellent grain quality and excellent production potential. Sementes Agroceres brings AG9035, a hybrid for the off-season, with the differential of having an extremely early cycle, high productivity and tolerance to important diseases such as rust polysora, turcicum and cercospora . The Agroeste brand will present AS1844, a hybrid that combines stability, leaf health and good tolerance to bacterial streak.
The already established Bayer brands Monsoy and Agroeste will also be present at the fair and present their lines which, together, already offer more than 20 varieties for soy with the new biotechnology platform, with adaptability for each region of the country, bringing the producer the best tool to obtain real gains of new levels of productivity.
Crop Protection
In a country like Brazil, with a tropical climate, agricultural pesticides are indispensable to guarantee the protection of crops in the fight against pests, diseases and weeds. During the fair, the producer will be able to learn about some of the most innovative solutions in this regard, such as the herbicide for the pre-emergent management of weeds in corn, Adengo®, which brings an alternative with a broad spectrum of control and two modes of action (Isoxaflutol and Thiencarbazone), acting on both wide and narrow leaves. In addition, the solution has a stable and long-lasting formulation, and can be used with or without the formation of straw, promoting more effective pre-emergent management.
Also noteworthy is the fungicide Fox® Xpro, which fights the main diseases of soy, corn, cotton, winter cereals, sunflower and beans, providing protection and helping to gain productivity. Composed of three active ingredients, Fox® Xpro allows triple action on the main diseases that affect crops, such as the dreaded Asian soybean rust.
For insects that are difficult to control, such as bed bugs and corn leafhoppers, Bayer will introduce producers to the insecticide Curbix 200 SC®️, which acts to control these insects in two ways: through ingestion and, mainly, by move across the surface of the plant containing the product, providing a high shock effect and a prolonged period of control. In addition, the company also presents Connect®, an insecticide that with a prolonged control period against bedbugs and leafhoppers, and Larvin®️, a consolidated product that addresses problems with caterpillars of the genus Spodoptera in soybean, corn and cotton crops.
For the control of nematodes, Bayer offers Verango® Prime, aimed at soy and corn input, with the active ingredient Fluopyram, an innovative molecule that offers effective and long-lasting control, with low dosage per hectare. The broad spectrum of control against the most important species of nematodes is essential for the management of this pest, in addition to being compatible with biological products and presenting less risk to the environment and operators.
It is also worth mentioning that the nematicide Verango® Prime has a healthy and synergistic coexistence with biological products, such as Serenade®, a bactericidal fungicide with multiple modes of action that is used in crops such as citrus, soybeans, cotton, beans and fruit and vegetables.
Digital Technology
In addition to the entire Bayer portfolio, visitors to Show Rural Coopavel will have contact with the solutions developed by the company to digitize the countryside and unlock new opportunities to transform agriculture, says Alexandre Pimenta , director of Climate Fieldview.
The digital solutions area will have an exclusive stand with all the latest advances in this segment. At the stand, visitors will be able to learn more about FieldView through demonstrations and conversations with our specialists, in addition to the benefit of completing the purchase at the time of items such as cabin combos, inside the FieldView Shop.
Customers registered at Impulso Bayer will have access to specific vouchers to increase the accumulation of points, and may gain access to an exclusive course at FieldView University. "The fair's participants will be able to see practical examples of how the leading digital agriculture platform in the country has increasingly become a daily use tool for producers", says Pimenta.
Bayer will bring to the Rural Show already established features and innovative business models, such as Bayer VAlora, which seeks to optimize corn seed density. "We are at the side of the producer, working more efficiently with different production environments and focusing on better profitability", says the executive. "We will also present the advances achieved with PRO Carbono, a program co-created with Brazilian farmers, experts and companies that is intensifying the adoption of sustainable practices in the field, showing that productivity and sustainability go hand in hand."
Shared Knowledge
In addition to access to the company's main innovations in corn and soybean crops, farmers present at Show Rural Coopavel will be able to benefit from content and recommendations for their crops in conversations with specialists and by attending a series of lectures. One of them, led by Marcelo Ferri , market development agronomist at Bayer, will explain how it is possible to reduce the existing difference between the productivity obtained in corn and the productive potential of the crop.
"Today, there is a 37% opportunity gap between what the corn producer harvests and what he would be able to harvest. One of the ways to reduce this gap is through the optimization of management with productive environments and adjustments in the seed population density. That's what Bayer has been working on with digital tools to support this efficiency gain through initiatives like Bayer VAlora", says Ferri. "Nobody knows their fields and reality better than the farmer", says the agronomist.
Lectures and discussions led by specialists will take place from Tuesday (7th) at Bayer's stands between 10:00 am and 4:30 pm, addressing topics such as new solutions for disease management, combating corn leafhopper, how to know if purchased products for the crop are original and how the pre-emergent Adengo® can help in the management of weeds in maize.
