Flexible Steel Lacing Companycally attached light-duty conveyor belt cleats, offered in theTatch-A-Cleat(r) line by <%=company%> provide a fast, economical method of customizing virtually any type of standard conveyor belt for efficiency. Available in a variety of sizes and types, including lugs and pegs, attachable cleats enable belts to elevate their cargo at steeper inclines using shorter conveyors, carry loose or granular material more effectively, and even perform basic size-sorting, counting or collating functions.

These mechanically attached cleats -- which are available in a variety of compounds including FDA-accepted nitrile rubber, EPDM neoprene and isoprene -- eliminate the need for expensive fabricating processes normally involved in producing cleated belts. Fastened to the belt with screws or bolts, attachable cleats also afford easy on-site changeability as application requirements change, plus easy individual replacement of broken or worn cleats. In addition, attachable cleats are easily installed with simple hand tools by plant maintenance personnel. No special training or expertise is needed, in contrast to altering cleat patterns or repairing cleats on prefabricated belts, which require extensive downtime and, frequently, the purchase of a new custom-made belt.

For conveyors transporting products that require cleats extending across the full width of the belt -- such as small parts or packages, loose or granular materials --Tatch-A-Cleat offers Model L, a paddle-type cleat that serves as a support to prevent product rollback. This design features a patented pressure-cup base that enables the cleat to be drawn tightly against the belt surface to prevent materials from being trapped between the belt and cleat -- important where cleanliness, contamination or spoilage are concerns. Model L cleats are offered in standard lengths that can be easily cut to the conveyor belt width; remnants may be pieced together to span the belt width.

Tatch-A-Cleat also offers individually attached lugs and pegs to serve a variety of specialized needs. For example, on conveyor belts transporting wet products such as washed fruit or vegetables, individual lugs and pegs promote immediate run-off of liquids and/or can be positioned in any pattern to selectively move products exceeding a particular size, or to hold individual products in specified positions on the belt for counting, timing or collating purposes. They also offer a cost-cutting alternative for belts moving products that do not require support across the full belt width, such as rods, tubes or wide cartons, and allow belts to operate over split or disc-type idlers, and through comb-type discharge devices.
