Anritsu Detection Solutions On Display At PACK EXPO International

AnritsuSystems

Elk Grove Village, IL - As the US food industry strives to design and operate more efficient and food-safety centric production plants in response to FSMA, an increasing number of food production and distribution facilities are adopting various detection technologies to reach these goals. PACK EXPO International, which takes place Nov. 2-5 at Chicago’s McCormick Place, will showcase a variety of Anritsu Industrial Solutions USA Inc. detection systems the food and packaging industries need to raise the bar on improving efficiencies, product quality and food safety.

PACK EXPO International is being produced by the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI) – The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies.

A subsidiary of Japan-based Anritsu Industrial Solutions Co., Ltd., Anritsu Industrial Solutions USA Inc. offers industry-leading X-Ray inspection systems, Checkweighers, Metal Detectors, proprietary software and Performance Service Programs to ensure your company remains in compliance with the most stringent quality control programs and advances the quality of your products.

Anritsu HD X-Ray inspection systems typically detect metal contaminants as small as 0.4mm diameter and 1.0mm to 2.0mm diameter glass, bones and stones while Anritsu UltraHD technology can detect down to 0.2mm diameter ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless steel spheres at production line speeds. The simultaneous ability to inspect for other packaging anomalies exists within the standard software including virtual checkweighing, missing item detection, counting capabilities and overall package integrity. DualX X-Ray Inspection Technology enhances Anritsu’s ability to detect low-density contaminants by analyzing two different X-Ray energy signals simultaneously, allowing it to easily distinguish between product and contaminant. DualX X-Ray Inspection Technology, which has a higher detection rate of low-density items compared to conventional X-Ray systems, is ideal for detecting low-density poultry and fish bones plus it offers improved bone detection in beef and pork cuts. Detection of stone and glass in products containing harvested items such as granola bars is also maximized.

More than 150 standard Checkweigher solutions within three primary categories (Economy, Washdown and High Accuracy) are available from Anritsu. Anritsu SSV Series Checkweighers can weigh hundreds of products per minute with a scale value of 1 milligram (.001 grams) with accuracy of ±.01 g depending on the application. Smart Measurement Function is a recently introduced Anritsu technology that allows you to run at higher speeds with less pack spacing, minimizing false rejects based on inconsistent package spacing. Our Checkweighers are very small in their footprint because of the accuracy Anritsu can provide utilizing either load cell or forced balance technology. We can also integrate a metal detector system to create an all Anritsu Combination Metal Detector and Checkweigher System, which also fits within a very small footprint.

Anritsu Metal Detectors are highly accurate, robust, and easy to clean and are offered in a very small footprint to fit within tight packaging lines. Its industry leading Dual Wave Technology offers versatile metal detection solutions for the food industry. Multiple frequencies are available within the system and two frequencies operate simultaneously to maximize detection of ferrous and stainless metals independent of each other. Anritsu has designed and built the only system in the industry to deliver this innovative continuous Dual Wave solution. Anritsu’s higher level technology, Dual Wave H, advances the sophistication of the standard Dual Wave metal detector with a new head design and advanced software tools yet it remains very simple to operate and maximize. Within its small footprint, the system can be quickly dismantled for cleaning and sanitation without tools.

Anritsu's QuiCCA software is the overall quality management, data collection and quality control system for all of Anritsu's inspection equipment on you production lines. All aspects of production including past logs, current status and future problems are supported by this software. When connected to a mail server, the machine's status and error messages can be sent directly and automatically to your mobile phone. The quality management system also has centralized control of the operational status of the entire production line, allowing it to conduct causal analysis to detect abnormalities before they even occur. QuiCCA software can be configured with multiple machines or a single machine at your plant. This quality management system has easy to read formats to monitor and diagnose your production line, including Statistical, X-bar and Histogram Displays.
