Burkert38 2/2-way solenoid angle seat valve for steam applications features a direct acting switching mode. The unique design permits nearly a full bore opening when actuated. Available in brass with sizes from 3/8in. to 1in., the valve has an operating range from 0 to 140 psi at temperatures up to 356°F. This design also affords extremely high reliability and long service life, the result of the pressure-relieved actuation, minimum seal exposure, and precision machining of the valve components.

This zero pressure type valve has a direct acting-switching mode. The plunger is coupled to the seal tube so when the solenoid starts to move the plunger, a bore is opened. This causes a pressure relief in the valve inside, such that the valve can be easily opened fully by the magnetic field. De-engerized, the valve is held closed by spring force. The medium pressure on top of the plunger supports the closing force of the spring.

Using the Easy LINK concept, the valve can quickly integrate into a decentralized, local control loop using a Burkert sensor controller or industry standard controller. Alternately, the valve can be controlled via FieldBus. This valve is ideally designed to meet the rigorous demands of on/off steam control in all industries.
