Fitzpatrick reduces delivery time on standard S-DAS06 FitzMill. As part of a company wide effort to reduce delivery time, Fitzpatrick has developed internal systems that have reduced the delivery time of a standard S-DAS06 to 4 weeks or less. This current standard FitzMill includes many features and benefits which provide maximum process flexibility as well as mechanical features required to meet specific needs. Included is a reversible precision balanced rotor with blade configurations specified to meet the application and three standard speeds and screens to meet process requirements. All product contact parts are constructed of 316 stainless steel and the base is 304 stainless steel with legs and castors or floor flanges. Standard electrics include controls in a NEMA 4x enclosure. Optional electrics or other features may have a minimal impact on delivery time.

The standard FitzMill design which originated some 65 years ago, has evolved and improved in quality, functionality and design features as follows:

  • Outboard bearings to separate the product contact parts from the process components. The outboard bearings located on each side of the rotor allow for higher speed capability than cantilever models.
  • Wide range of blade types available to suit the application.
  • An auger feed system is available as well as manual pan fed version or any custom designed throat that is required to meet the application.
  • The standard FitzMill can be supplied or even retrofitted with Fitzpatrick's Product Containment System.
  • The standard configuration is a belt driven rotor however, direct connect designs are available.
  • A wide range of capacities are available from the seven models which feature this design.

The feed system on a Variable Feed Screw (VFS) FitzMill Comminutor is constructed of all stainless steel with disassembly and cleaning in mind. The VFS System provides greater efficiency when grinding to finer particle sizes.

This SPV-FASO20 incorporates a shroud for sound attenuation. The panels are constructed of stainless steel outer shells with lightweight, sound-attenuating pads made of F.D.A.-approved materials. The shroud is made with removable panels for easy cleaning and maintenance.

FitzMill Comminutors supplied with open type feed throats (code SPV) are design to accommodate special installation requirements.
