Smaller Companies Facing FSMA Challenges
Food Online was broadcasting live at Process Expo 2015 in Chicago, recording podcasts with key attendees at the show. Todd Schnick, host of Food Online Voices, spoke with influential industry leaders about hot topics in food and beverage manufacturing. These podcasts address the latest in technology and processes as described by individuals who are driving developments in food safety, processing, and packaging.
As director of the Institute for Food Safety and Health (IFSH) and vice president of the Illinois Institute of Technology, Robert E. Brackett, PhD, addresses the impact of the new FSMA regulations on the industry. By providing training on the new regulations, IFSH is geared toward small and mid-size companies that need help complying with the nuances of FSMA. He demonstrates how the new rules prescribe preventive rather than reactive action by the industry. Brackett also discusses how the government might achieve its goals and provide proper funding for FSMA implementation.
