MULTIVAC Presents New Traysealer Model At IFFA

ssd

At the IFFA 2013 (Hall 11), MULTIVAC is presenting a new fully automatic traysealer model in the medium output range: The T 600 seals up to 40 trays per minute and is directed primarily at small and medium-sized food producers and packers requiring a solution that is compact and capable of being fully integrated in a line.

“The T 600 is a competitively priced model with which we are clos-ing the gap in our traysealer portfolio between the slightly smaller compact model T 300 and the high-performance model T 700. We expect great interest from growing companies that want a higher level of automation and/or want to switch from manual loading of their packaging machine to a fully automated solution,” says Alex-ander Kult, Product Manager at MULTIVAC.

The main application areas of the T 600 lie in the food sector, pri-marily in meat, sausage and convenience products, but it is also suitable for the packing of seafood/fish and cheese, as well as fruit and vegetables or salad products. The T 600 can produce MAP packaging with and without LID film, skin Isopak packaging and Slicepac packaging.

Automation: tray-gripper system
The T 600 is equipped with a tray-gripper system. What is known as a “smart belt” lines up the trays precisely into the position of the tray gripper, which automatically transports the trays to be sealed into the die. At the same time, the sealed trays are transferred from the die to the discharge conveyor and automatically removed from the traysealer.

Operators can use existing line components, such as Portion-to-Pack Solutions, Intralox transport conveyors, drag chains, robot solutions, labellers, metal detectors, etc., in a T 600 line.

Various cutting tools permit the manufacture of tray packages both with protruding film (outside cut) and without it (inside cut). “In the design of the tool, we gave special consideration to customer re-quirements for reducing the scope of the components to be changed to a minimum,” adds Kult. The extremely simple film feed enables a film change in record time.

The T 600 meets the highest hygiene standards and was developed in accordance with the pioneering MULTIVAC Hygiene DesignTM. The machine can be subjected to a complete wash-down. The control cabinet is mounted on the side of this model, which has the advantage that electrical and pneumatic components are centrally accessible. This makes troubleshooting and other work easier.

The ergonomic HMI 2.0 user interface enables intuitive and safe operation of the T 600. A program memory for more than 200 reci-pes and a choice between more than 40 operating languages ensure reproducible packaging quality.
