BetzDearbornus NX114, a patented broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent for cooling water systems from BetzDearborn, provides highly effective and convenient protection against bacteria, algae, sulfate reducers, and fungi. This blend of three antimicrobial components minimizes the development of resistant microbial strains and destroys microorganisms, even at low dosages. Spectrus does not contain iron or copper stabilizers and will not affect corrosion inhibitors or deposit control treatments. It is water-based, non-foaming, noncombustible, and oil- and glycol-free for increased convenience and safety in handling. By controlling slime and corrosion-causing microorganisms, Spectrus can maximize heat transfer, prevent unscheduled shutdowns, extend equipment life, and improve cooling system performance.
