Capitalizing on the benefits but eliminating the inherent disadvantages of conventional sheet filtration, Pall SUPRApak™ modules represent the future of depth filtration in the food and beverage industry. SUPRApak modules offer extremely high particle removal, haze reduction and polishing filtration in an enclosed system.

The unique performance of SUPRApak modules is due to an entirely new flow configuration called "edge flow." This edge flow principle maximizes the surface, depth and adsorption mechanisms of filtration that normally occur in sheet media.

A SUPRApak module consists of filter sheet material wrapped around a central permeable core with external straps that attach the sheet material to the core. The sheet material is punched with an intricate pattern of feed and filtrate channels, which direct the fluid flow through the module. The unfiltrate enters the module from the outside through feed channels. The driving force of differential pressure pushes the fluid flow through the sheet media in a direction parallel to the filter sheet surface toward the filtrate channels. The filtrate channels then carry the fluid toward the center core where it exits the module.

The resulting SUPRApak module is a dense circuit of high quality filter sheet material in a compact, easy to change format. Depending on the application, one 16 inch SUPRApak module can replace between 36 and 72 filter sheets size 400 X 400 mm or between 15 and 32 filter sheets size 600 X 612. SUPRApak filter housings can hold from 1 module up to 6 modules with flow capacities up to 400 hl/hour. Additionally the modular housing design enables multiple combinations of installed modules providing flexibility to process varied batches.
