Ultrasound Seal Quality Inspection Technology Seal-Scan® 520 Will Be Showcased At Pack Expo Las Vegas Visit PTI In Booth C-1513
PTI will showcase Seal-Scan® airborne ultrasound inspection system at Pack Expo, September 28-30, 2015, in the Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth C-1513. Seal-Scan® technology is featured in the ASTM Test Method F3004-13 “Standard Test Method for Evaluation of Seal Quality and Integrity Using Airborne Ultrasound”. This test method may be applied to the inspection and evaluation of flexible package seals of all material types.
The Seal-Sensor® 520 provides the following design and software enhancements:
- Compact test head with focused ultrasonic sensors
- Stainless steel workstation with small footprint
- Operator touch screen with optional PC connection for in-depth analysis
- L-Scan and C-Scan modes with additional seal scanning options
- Fast scanning rate capabilities
- More sensitive to smaller defects
- Robust high frequency signal with higher pulse
- More measurements of the seal
- Statistical scan data and data collection
- Wireless connectivity capability
Oliver Stauffer, vice president PTI Inspection Technologies, stated, “Seal-Scan technology is also referenced in the new Chapter USP for integrity testing methods. The new USP Chapter will have a significant impact on how companies weigh their choices in measuring the seal integrity of a package. The Seal-Scan 520 provides a non-destructive solution for seal quality testing that cannot be achieved with any other test method.”
Capabilities & Benefits:
- Seal verification and common defect detection (incomplete seals, partial seals, weak seals, channel defects, misaligned seals and seal delamination)
- Improved detection capability from manual visual inspection
- Offline lab testing and 100% online solutions
- Non-subjective repeatable results
- Quantitative traceable data
