The first organic, mini-dogs are hitting supermarket shelves with the health and environmentally-conscious American snack eaters in mind

Organic beef is difficult to come by on the shelves of some supermarkets across the U.S.  Now, more than ever before, cows are being “beefed up” with hormones and antibiotics designed to allow the cow to grow as quickly and as free of disease as possible. This opens the market for consumers looking for more authentic beef, and companies like Organic Valley are vying for that market.  The company’s recent release of Organic Beef Cocktail Franks is an example of how it is attempting to market toward those wanting to enjoy appetizer snacks, but not feel guilty about it.

Organic Valley is the largest organic farming cooperative in North America with more than 1,834farm owners in 33 states and four Canadian Provinces. The company’s mini-cocktail franks are being marketed as the only organic beef cocktail franks in the nation. The company takes pride in its dedicated ranchers grazing organic certified pastures. None of the farmers’ products use antibiotics, hormones, pesticides, or genetically modified organisms (GMO). This alone can be a feat of great accomplishment as using chemicals and hormones has steadily become the norm in the farming industry over the last few decades.

While organic companies are attempting to compete with companies using chemical and genetic enhancements, Organic Valley is slowly growing traction since their inception in 1988 as consumers are more health-conscious and informed than ever before. With its latest release of an organic, appetizer sized weenie, Organic Valley is hoping to score some market appeal with the American consumer who still enjoys snacks, but is also aware of the benefits of organic food.
