Erie, PA - Hundreds of companies solve their processing and purity problems every year at the most complete separation, metal detection and vibratory testing facility in the world. The Eriez Magnetics Technical Center helps companies design the most effective and economical systems to convey, screen, inspect or separate products or materials.

The 10,000-square-foot facility was built in 1963 and houses a library, computer lab, conference center, sample storage area, dust room and three main testing areas. The center includes more than 150 different types of permanent magnetic, electromagnetic, vibratory, conveying, metal detection and mineral processing equipment ranging from simple plates, grates and traps to sophisticated devices such as rare-earth rolls and eddy-current separators.

Each year, the center hosts more than 150 customers and runs more than 600 tests on a variety of material samples received from companies all over the world. Personnel from Eriez will work with companies to design a customized system and provide the necessary equipment. The Eriez Technical Center, located in Erie, Pa., is staffed by four Ph.D.s, seven engineers and six support technicians.

Eriez is recognized as world authority in advanced technology for magnetic, vibratory and metal detection applications. The company's magnetic lift and separation, metal detection, materials feeding, screening, conveying and controlling equipment have applications in the process, metalworking, packaging, recycling, mining, aggregate, and textile industries. Eriez manufactures and markets these products through nine international facilities located on five continents.
