Fieldcheck Enables In-Situ Verification Of All Proline Flow Meters
Case Study: Fieldcheck Enables In-Situ Verification Of All Proline Flow Meters
By Endress Hauser, Inc.
The Code of Federal Regulations Title 27 CFR 25.42 – Measuring Device Testing and Documentation Actions stipulates that producers of Beer who use process instrumentation must maintain records of testing to this standard for review by officals of the TTB (Treasury Tax Bureau, a division of the Department of Treasury) on an interval to ensure meter accuracy is less than or equal to 0.5%. Historically, this practice has included the use of "master" meters with better accuracy at frequent intervals (as often as once per quarter). In-situ testing can be expensive with the time lost to production and to setup and conduct a wet test.
Long term testing of flow meter stability in standard services like alcohol production with an in-situ verification device like the Endress Hauser FieldCheck can prove that meter drift and sensor defects can be determined and provide an unalterable record of meter tests for comparison to subsequent tests. Further, the FieldCheck is an ISO-17025 traceable device.
