Your product integrity is our focus.
From humble beginnings to a world leader in metal detectors and x-ray inspection systems.
Safeline was founded on the premise that it was possible to build a better, more effective metal detector. The year was 1989. Our founders, industry professionals with expertise in metal detection, brought their vision to life and introduced a digital metal detector that was innovative in design and unmatched in sensitivity. The industry took notice. And Safeline's success grew. In little over ten years, the company has grown from a small, localized firm to become the world's largest supplier of metal detection equipment with a global network of sales and support. Headquartered in Manchester, England, with subsidiary companies in the U.S.A., France, Germany, and the Netherlands, Safeline furnishes one out of every four systems sold to world markets. No competitor comes close to this achievement. There are several good reasons for Safeline's success. First, we never lose sight of our customer's needs — fulfilling our customers' metal detection requirements is our most important achievement. Second, our commitment to innovation means that today, Safeline systems continue to set new standards in performance, providing optimum protection for our customers' products. Finally, Safeline's network of expert service technicians and experienced distributors provide complete support for every system, regardless of where in the world it is installed.
A promising future
In 1997, Safeline joined Mettler-Toledo, a world leader in industrial scales and weighing instruments. The strength of this organization made it possible for Safeline to acquire AVS Raytech, a highly respected manufacturer of x-ray inspection equipment. This acquisition combined the expertise of two leaders in product inspection technology to offer creative solutions for virtually all product inspection requirements. With x-ray inspection, detection of multiple contaminants as well as verifying product integrity and portion control is also possible.

The self-contained Mobile Training Platform, staffed by technical trainers, features four different Safeline metal detectors and two Safeline x-ray inspection units suitable for both food and pharmaceutical applications. In addition to a comprehensive training program, the Mobile Training Platform offers interactive machine demonstrations, product testing, line audits and sensitivity statements.
