Case Study: Liquiphant M Replaces Flow Switch For Water Detection Invegetable Blancher Overflow Compartment
By Endress Hauser, Inc.
A Liquiphant M replaces a flow switch in a trough of a vegetable blancher which ensures enough water is available for the blanching process. Installed flow switches are being replaced every 3 to 4 weeks due to the adverse operating conditions.
The sales representative asked the customer if the flow rate in the trough was important. The customer stated that flow rate in this area is irrelevant. As long as there is water flowing over the flow switch, the system can operate. Basically, once the trough is filled, the re-circulating pumps receive enough water and can be started. The pumps are turned off when the flow drops below the probe.
In this application, the level of the flowing water is critical, not the actual flow rate. A perfect application for the Liquiphant M.
