With weighing capacities from 2.1g up to 14kg and readabilities from 0.1µg to 0.1g, the Cubis® balance series is especially suited for nearly any laboratory weighing application. All balances incorporate the second-generation Sartorius proprietary monolithic weigh cells for the utmost accuracy.

Unique Features & Benefits of Cubis®:

  • The first balance in its class with automatic leveling: When tilted, Cubis® alerts a user the balance needs to be leveled. Simply press a key and the balance will either engage motorized leveling automatically or display prompts/diagrams for manual leveling (a standard feature) for effective support. Leveling could not be easier or more convenient than this.
  • The first lab balance with Q-Pan off-center load compensation: Cubis® is the first laboratory balance that compensates for off-center loading of the weighing pan. Q-Pan simultaneously offers the user two advantages: a significant reduction in the off-center load error and consequently the use of larger weighing pans, which means reliable and repeatable results in a larger working area.
  • Safe and easy to use with the Q-Guide operating concept: With the Q-Guide user interface—a novel, wizard supported User/Task Management, work tasks are not only faster, but designed so that the user only sees what is needed for carrying out the task in hand. It hides information that is not relevant and can be used by several users who have similar or even different tasks to perform in the lab. This ensures error-free results with high reliability and increased productivity
  • Q-Com: a versatile communication design feature: Cubis® comes with three standard built-in communication interfaces: USB, 25-pin RS232 and Ethernet (not on MSE). MSA/MSU control units also come with an SD card reader for the ability to exchange data and user profiles with a PC or between Cubis to Cubis. An option to select an additional interface (25-pin RS232, Bluetooth or 9-pin RS232 with PS2) is also possible, which promotes the ability to satisfy every communication need—easily and affordable.
  • Advanced Pharma Compliance—useful in regulated sectors: The requirements for controlling and monitoring the accuracy of inspection, measuring and test equipment used in quality systems and those of the USP, place exceptionally high demands on lab equipment and operators alike. The Advanced Pharma Compliance (APC) features of Cubis® offer more than the best possible conditions in regulated areas who require monitoring and traceability, tamper-proof security, validated weighing for accurate and reliable results as well as easy, quick and thorough cleaning. These features include: GLP-compliant logging/printing of weighing data, users/password management, audit trail function, alert message and reminder functions, isoCAL automatic calibration/adjustment function, automatic motorized leveling, minimum sample weight according to USP, uncertainty measurement determinations and an easy-to-clean design. APC enables seamless integration of Cubis into processes and provides valuable support in implementing customized equipment safety and reliability of results.

From simple weighing to a complex network… a choice of three different display/control units covers the widest variety of laboratory applications:

  • MSA: Top-of-the-line technology and information design touch screen featuring high-resolution, color TFT for brilliant reproduction of text and graphics. Outstanding ease of use and display quality, especially for complex applications.
  • MSU: High-resolution, extra-large monochrome graphic display with positive click action keys for precise activation of functions. Best for users who wish to combine classic key-operated control with the widest possible range of performance features.
  • MSE: Large, high-contrast liquid crystal display. Easy-to-understand menu guidance with short text prompts and clearly structured keys for precise activation of functions. This is the most basic and simplistic; however, with fewer features.

Cubis® can also utilize various accessories to make weighing applications easier:

  • Q-Stat: features a built-in, four-jet ionizer in the DI draft shield that quickly dissipates electrostatic charges on containers and substances that could affect weighing measurements. As a result, stable and accurate weighing results can be achieved quickly, regardless of external influences.
  • Q-Grip: a flexible and adaptable "one-size-fits-all" holder for bottles, test tubes, reaction containers, centrifuge tubes or filters. Its ergonomic design angles the vessel to quickly and easily introduce samples to a vessel (especially with small orifices) without spillage—Q-Grip works with all Cubis® semi-micro and analytical balances only.
  • Q-Grid: gridded weighing pan that can weigh in laminar flow, fume hoods and open workbenches without restricting the performance of the balance. It's available for all Cubis® models with a readability of 10mg or 100mg (not model 5202S) and is great for weighing applications often encountered in pharmaceutical laboratories.
  • Infrared Sensor: effective for touch-free activation of opening and closing draft shield doors, tare, print, calibrate/adjustment or to the turn the ionizer on and off. This accessory is great for added measurement stability as well as for applications in a glove box or fume hood.

Cubis® is ‘future-proof'… Technology for today and tomorrow: Given the modular design of every Cubis®, new technological innovations can be retrofitted and implemented quickly and precisely as needed without having to purchase a brand-new balance. As a result, Cubis® will meet both the contingencies in the laboratories of today and the expanded uses of tomorrow.
