After 85+ years of research and development, we've found that reliability, repeatability, stability and accuracy are the four key attributes of any weigh feeder. The Model 450 continuously controls feed rate, measures totalized weight, and maintains set point with the highest degree of accuracy since both its scale and belt speed control systems possess the following characteristics.

• DEPENDABILITY
  The Model 450 Weigh Feeder offers trouble-free operation, 24 hours a day, year afer year. Components are designed and manufactured to meet the most demanding requirements, while maintaining the highest degree of weighing accuracy found in the industry today.
• ACCURACY
  Merrick has designed a system to continuously and repeatably measure weight and belt speed, and to calculate rate and compare it to set point, providing a reliable, repeatable, and stable instrument that is accurate up to +0.25% of set rate at two sigma-based on at least two belt revolutions or 1,000 counts of the master totalizer. In addition, totalized weight readings will be accurate to within +0.25% of test weight.
• REPEATABILITY
  The Model 450 maintains a repeatability within +0.25 to 1.00% of sample average, depending on material characteristics at two sigma based on at least thirty consecutive samples, each taking place over at least two complete belt revolutions, or 1,000 counts of the master totalizer. In addition, it will repeat controller set point start-up after start-up, regardless of idle time.
• LINEARITY
  Linearity is maintained withing +0.25 to 1.00% of set point, depending on material characteristics, at two sigma based on at least thirty consecutive samples, over a turndon of 20:1 from full scale, each sample taking place over at least two complete belt revolutions or 1,000 counts of the master totalizer.
• STABILITY
  The Model 450 is designed with components and electronics utilizing the latest in technology, providing absolutely no drift of zero, span or set point.
