In-Line Blending process is designed to take advantage of high pulse rate meters to ensure that each ingredient that contributes to the finished product is at its precise percentage of volume or weight. If any ingredient goes off spec, the system shuts down, making it virtually impossible to produce bad product. If the delivery rate of one of the ingredients slows down, all the other ingredients pace back proportionately, enabling the system to produce the product on spec. This application can be demand-driven, or it can utilize a wild stream process variable for more flexibility in the production process. According to the supplier, digital in-line blending can save on floor space due to the elimination of tanks and reduction in mixer sizes, and energy usage can be optimized.
